At Onkologikoa we are leaders in the use of an innovative therapeutic approach whereby the treatment of patients with breast cancer begins, before surgery, with 6 months of hormone treatment.
The key to an excellent treatment lies in its personalisation, in its adaptation to each patient’s needs, and in keeping its side effects to a minimum. Thus, at Onkologikoa we have introduced to our guide for treating “luminal” breast cancers (those with a positive hormone receptor expression) an approach involving hormone treatment (one pill every day, generally very well tolerated) for six months, with strict monitoring. This treatment is followed by surgical ablation of the tumour; if while doing so we find that there is adequate tumour response, the patient can potentially avoid chemotherapy in the majority of cases.
